This pattern is written for 4 gauges (3.5, 4,5,5.5 sts = 1") & finished measurements of 36-60". there are optional front tabs and back detail for the tuxedo vest. Pick out your yarn and knit a swatch. Match the swatch to one of the stitch gauges and pick your size. To make sure that you get the correct measurements, take a sweater that fits and use those measurements. Use a pattern stitfch or several pattern stitches, garter stitch or seed stitch the whole vest, add some stripes or some glitz or just use up your odds and ends. This is another pattern that should be considered a blank canvas for your creativity. You will need buttons and a crochet hook for a crochet edge. Use smaller needles if you want ribbing or just let the edge roll. If you are using pattern stitches or adding length for a man's vest go up to the yardage for the next size.
